The world's thinnest mechanical movement ever (1.2mm) ... since 1976 !

In 1976 Mr Jean Bouchet-Lassale founded the Swiss Watch Manufacture JEAN LASSALE GENEVE. From 1976 untill 1979 the company was building and selling watches that hold the famous 1200 Caliber; the slimmest movement ever that has been developped by Mr. Pierre Mathys, master watchmaker in La Chaux-de-Fonds.In the 70’s, Mr. Mathys designed and built the prototype of a revolutionary watch caliber, with the goal to make the slimmest watch movement in the world. To achieve his goal he decided to remove bridges and conter-pivot, and used ball-bearings for the axis. With this innovation JEAN LASSALE GENEVE won several awards:
